History

Antiquity

Rhulfolk believe they are the direct descendants of the Great Fathers. [1]

Feud of Ages

Taking place approximately 8500 BR and lasting through 8200 BR, the Rhulfolk fought a civil war, stifling their progress as a civilizaiton. Thirteen clans departed and settled in Ghord. [1]

Rhulic Moot

The Great Fathers created the Rhulic Moot. Artifacts dating back to 7500 BR include tablets containing laws and instructions enabling the Rhul clans to coexist. The thirteen most prominent clans are the Stone Lords, tracing ancestry to the Great Fathers. They preside over the Moot of the Hundred Houses, which form the central legistlation and judicial governence of Rhul. There are over a thousand recognized clans who occassionally clash in sanctioned and regulated battles overseen by the Moot. [1]

Gifts of the arcane

The Great Fathers gifted arcane magic to the Rhulfolk, providing strict rules on use.[1]

Lament of Ghor

The Lament of Ghor is not actually related to the diety, but to the collapse of the Lyossan Bridge of Worlds in 4000 BR. The arcane shockwave passing through the continent swallowed cities in earthquakes. Entire clans disappeared. The event was named Lament of Ghor because it harkened back to the old stories.[1]

The Rhulfolk recognized that new people settling on the southeastern border of their homeland were connected to the arcane tremors and Lament of Ghor.[1]

Hundred House Rebellion

One of the few times where feuds threatened to overwhelm adherence to the Codex. [2]

Orgoth Occupation

In 542 BR, the Orgoth layed siege to Horgenhold, setting up along the Black River. Rhul was neutral to the invasion until this event, because the Orgoth were just another human clan fighting human clans. The Rhul pushed the Orgoth back, but didn't directly fight the Orgoth beyond their borders. [1]

Rhul eventually aided the Iron Kingdoms during the creation of the colossals, being fascinated by the technilogical possibilities. Rhul supported the rebellion in exchange for knowledge of alchemy and firearms, the cerebral matrix, and schematics of the colossals. Rhul not only supplied raw materials, but also completed components to build the colossals. [1]

Expansion into the Iron Kingdoms

After the Orgoth were repelled and the Iron Kingdoms were created, the Stone Lords negotiated trade agreements with the kings of the south. The Rhul formed settlements in the south, helping humanity rebuild, and incorporating advances in technology (especially alchemy, firearms and mechanika) into Rhul society. These settlements were known as the Rhulic enclaves. [1]

The Rhulfolk settlements in Khador and Cygnar are considered Rhulic soil and are governed by Rhulic law. Rhul maintains neutrality in Iron Kingdom warfare, using conflict as an opportunity for business. The Seaforge Commission pursues economic advantages wherever they are found without undermining Rhul's political and social interests. [1]

The Claiming

The Infernals claimed many Rhulic souls living in the enclaves. Unlike the first Orgoth invasion, the threat of the Infernals was clear, and Rhul reaced quickly. Rhulic mercenaries fought directly in the Battle of Henge Hold. [1]

Establishing Freeholds

After the Infernal defeat, Rhul established freeholds, places within Rhul's borders where refugees could settle and coexist within Rhul society. Rhul constructed cities for refugees in the lowlands of their mountains. [1]
