Thoughts on PAGENAME
PAGENAME in a nutshell
The Wolf with No Name is a ranged powerhouse under the right conditions, featuring both a hit and damage fixer in Prey and a boosting mechanic on top of being a conditional weapon master thanks to Finisher.

If his Prey target is damaged, he is hitting at effective RAT 8 +2d6 and damaging at POW 14 +3d6 or POW 14 +4D6 if he spends the loot token he just earned. The difficulty with him is getting all of the conditions to be met to reach those numbers, shield guards and similar effects really ruin his day

Release
In Minions
* Boomhowler2 gives him Repo 3", so he can shoot and back up behind a forest or cover.
* Azazello probably not your first choice but you can get loot tokens on Riposte attacks, setting you up for later. Also his feat generally polishes infantry.
* Jaga-Jaga - Strong ranged models are even better under Signs and Portends.

In Circle Orboros
* As a Wolf Sworn model in circle he still benefits from Grayle's Tactician, Wolf Lord Morraig's Veteran Leader and triggers Sic ‘em on the War Wolf. He also doesn’t use up a minion slot in The Wild Hunt
** Thanks to his gun he can send War Wolfs into targets from relative safety.
* Argus Moonhound remove stealth, improve your chances to hit and it can slam shield guards near your target to prevent loot denial.
* Kromac1 -  Loves a few high quality guns to use warpath well.
* Mohsar - Sunhammer is an easy and convenient way to damage warjacks and warbeasts for the Wolf to shoot. Curse of Shadows is, of course, as always, great with guns.

Drawbacks & Downsides
* If you cannot meet the right conditions (Damaged prey target) his shooting is merely above average.
* With a single high powered shot shield guards are a real problem - they can deny loot and limit finisher
* although he has 8hp his defensive stats still let him down regularly if he doesn’t stick to cover.

Tricks & Tips
* Don't discount his knife. It's still P+S 10 with Prey, Finisher and Money is Power a MAT8 POW 12 weapon master charge with boosted attack rolls hurts like a truck!
* Start the game with something weak and forward-deploying as your Prey target, so you can easily hit it and earn loot tokens early. Then switch to your real Prey target mid-game and you're ready to boost.
* Alternatively Prey a purely melee heavy war noun (like an Ironclad) and put the wolf in a bit of central terrain that will force your opponent to think about the placement of that model. They either have to risk a 4 dice Rat8 pow 14 shot (average of 10 damage to the already hurt heavy) or have their 12pt model avoid your 4pt model all game.
* Your opponent isn’t likely to be this accommodating but you can score loot tokens from free strikes.

Model Advantages and Abilities

Pathfinder
Pathfinder
This model treats rough terrain as open terrain while advancing. While charging, slam power attacking, or trample power attacking, this model does not stop its movement when it contacts an obstacle.

No errata for Pathfinder (Create)

Dual Attack
Dual Attack

This model can make melee and ranged attacks in the same activation. When this model makes its initial melee attacks, it can also make its initial ranged attacks. A model with Dual Attack can make its initial melee and ranged attacks in any order you choose. This model cannot make ranged attacks after making a power attack.

Errata-Dual Attack and Unit Charges (2023-10-27)
Question: If a unit with Dual Attack charges a single model, are all placed in melee range, and the first model kills the charge target, can the remaining members of the unit make ranged attacks, or do they forfeit their Combat Action because they don't have any enemy models in their melee range?
Answer: The check for melee range is done at the end of movement. If you kill the targets before they attack, they can still do their ranged attack. (Malkav13)
Explanation: This post is correct.

Errata-Dual Attack and Special Attacks (2023-08-10)
Question: Can a model with Dual Attack make any combination of ranged special attack and normal melee initial attacks, or its melee special attack and normal ranged initial attacks? (Example: Bison Both Barrels and Ram, or Mariner Thresher and gunshot).
Answer: No.
Explanation: The bison can not use dual attack and also make a special attack. That is correct in that (Thresher) example too.

Ambush
Ambush
In most scenarios, this model/unit does not have to be deployed at the start of the game. Instead, it can be placed at the end of any of your Control Phases after the first round.
 • Choose any table edge except the back of your opponent's deployment zone.
 • Place the models/units completely within 3 inches of the chosen table edge.
 • Place so that every model in the unit is within 3 inches of every other model in the unit.
 • Ambushing models/units must forfeit either their Normal Movement or Combat Action during the turn they are put into play.

  Errata-Ambush (2024-1-16)
Question: When can Ambush happen - the rule book conflicts with app.
Answer: End of Control after the first round.
Explanation: N/A
Infernal Ruling: pps_Loren Privateer Press Staff/Dev - PP Community forum

Advance Deployment
Advance Deployment
In most scenarios, this model can be deployed after normal deployment, up to three inches beyond the established deployment zone.

No errata for Advance Deployment (Create)

Finisher
This model gains an additional die on damage rolls against damaged models.

No errata for Finisher (Create)

Hyper-Regeneration
Remove d3 damage points from this model at the start of each of its activations.

No errata for Hyper-Regeneration (Create)

Prey
After deployment, but before the first player's turn, choose an enemy model/unit to be this unit's prey. A model with Prey gains +2 to attack and damage rolls against its prey. When the prey is destroyed or removed from play, choose another model/unit to be the prey.

No errata for Prey (Create)
