The reclusive Thrullg are hulking humanoids that feed on magical energy. They are drawn from the safety of their lairs by the unfettered use of magic in battles across Caen, and no spellcaster is safe in the vicinity of a living Thrullg. As if their magical appetites were not dangerous enough, these creatures' claws and tentacles can kill a man as easily as they drain arcane power.

Thoughts on Thrullg
Thrullg in a nutshell
The Thrullg is a model you take when you know you want to get rid of upkeep spells or to bully an enemy with single wound spellcasters. It's a decent brawler otherwise, but its primary role is to bring anti-upkeep, anti-warjack, and anti-animus tech. At three points it's not that bad a brawler for its cost even if its tech isn't useful in any given game.
Combos & Synergies
- Rask - hit a model effected by Fury to reap all the benefits with almost none of the costs. You can also trigger prowl with Veil of Mists
- Maelok - polishes all infantry with +2 armour, undead and a great feat.
- Lord Azazello - 3 attacks go well with the +3 STR from his feat, Riposte and Duelist go well on a DEF 13 model.
- Death Archon, Malvin2 - First apply stationary, then Disrupt a Warjack so stationary can no longer be shaken.
Drawbacks & Downsides
- Low threat range
Tricks & Tips
- If against offensive upkeeps, hit your own model in the back to dispel the upkeep.
- it’s role changes between Warmachine and Hordes armies. In Warmachine you want it in melee as it’s effect really weakens jacks. Where as vs hordes it has a lot of great control elements weakening animus casting.
