Succubus

Products of generations of Everblight’s manipulations, succubi are fonts of blighted arcane power. To create each one, a specially selected Nyss is brought to the spawning pools and ritually bathed in the blood of a warlock. It emerges as something no longer wholly Nyss, attuned to the warlock whose blood actualized its second birth. This ritual empowers each succubus as an amplifier of its warlock’s own gifts. Thoughts on the Succubus

Succubus in a nutshell

The Succubus is a utility warlock attachment. She asks basically one simple question: do you want to pay 2 points for a free upkeep? If the answer is yes, then you can squeeze in the Succubus basically into any list - except The Twins who cannot have attachment. For the rest of the Warlock lineup the Fury saved via Arcane Assist means more fury for transfers, boosts, or more spells.

The second reason you want a Succubus is for Blizzard. Hex Bolt and Influence may come into play very very occasionally, but an on-demand cloud for your warlock to hide in is worth it's weight in gold as Legion often relies on stacking DEF buffs to stay in the game. Fortunately she has no in-faction competition, since she shares no common theme force with Ammok, the other warlock attachment.

Combos & Synergies

Many warlocks can live without a Succubus, but every one can make a case for it if you want the safety and/or flexibility. The Succubus is undoubtedly useful on our FURY5 and FURY6 warlocks, or warlocks with multiple upkeeps that they want in play all the time. As mentioned above, the Twins can't use her, but even Absylonia1 may think about one if she wants to use Refuge or Playing God in non-battlegroup members,

• Kryssa - Tough is better on the Succubus than dedicating a full spell to it, it’s armour is poor and a free upkeep allows easier cycling of Ignite.
• Lylyth1 - Sometimes the acquisition of power tokens may be difficult and a single spared Fury on your Parasite can make or brake its cycling. Also, an easy way to trigger Lylyth's prowl with Blizzard.
• Lylyth2 - 2 birds with 1 stone: you get "free" Mirage and you can use the spare Fury to trigger Soothing Song for Fury management.
• Lylyth3 - A free Battle Host goes a long way of keeping Lylyth more resilient to the enemy's predations. Just be sure to keep up with her breakneck speed.
• Kallus1 - With Angelic Sacrifice you can basically reduce the cost of Ignite cycling from 3 to 1.

Drawbacks & Downsides

• Frail. Beware boostable blasts.
• The usefulness of her other 2 magic attacks are limited at best

Tricks & Tips

• Try to activate your warlock first, so that you know exactly where the Succubus needs to stand to give it Arcane Assist next turn.
• Stand behind your blizzard target to block LOS
