Beat Back
Immediately after a basic atack with this weapon is resolved during the models Combat Action:
  1. The enemy model hit can be pushed 1 inch directly away from the attacking model.
  2. After the enemy model is pushed, the attacking model can advance up to 1 inch directly toward it.

You cannot move toward a model that is no longer on the table. When a movement occurs after a damage is resolved, and resolution of the damage destroys or removes a model from the table, then it is impossible to move toward that destroyed/removed model.

  Errata-Follow Up (2023-08-23)
Question: What is the timing of follow up, and do you still move if a slammed model is destroyed?
Answer: 1. Slam attack
2. Damage to target and collateral damage.
3. If slammed model is still on the table, Follow Up movement.
Explanation: The old ruling will still apply here.
The rationale is the “slam” and “Slammed” descriptions include the target taking a damage roll caused by the action. Therefore the damage roll is part and parcel with resolving the “slam”. For the it was that you can not follow up to a model that has been destroyed as there is no longer a model on the board to follow up to.

Thoughts on Blind Walker

Blind Walker in a nutshell

The Blind Walker is a heavy with the toughness of a heavy, an arc node, Shield Guard, and the points cost of a light. So where's the catch? It hits like a light and it isn't good at channeling.

Combos & Synergies

  • Calaban the Grave Walker The offensive spell slinger loves something to channel through
  • Maelok the Dreadbound Mortality and Venom are both excellent spells to channel and Maelok sends its already high ARM upwards on feat turn.
  • Blackhide Wrastler - it might have a low MAT but with two claws and three Fury it's still worth putting Rage on.
  • Makeda3 - Similar in cost and general ability to a Cyclops Brute. Less accurate, hit harder and probably overall harder to kill. Incite push his offensive stat well into the respectable category. Arc nodes also aren't a bad thing to have with her.

Drawbacks & Downsides

  • MAT 5, P+S 14 - the Blind Walker can't do the work of a heavy and shouldn't be thought of as one. Fortunately it now has the cost of a light.
  • The channeling animus has a number of issues
    • It hurts the Blind Walker to use (obviously)
    • Because it requires the animus the Blind Walker needs to activate before the caster
    • No running and animusing means no running and channeling.

Tricks & Tips

  • Remember you can slam. Frequently the best use of the offensive capabilities of the Blind Walker
