Crucible Guard Mechanik

The Crucible Guard has a small but dedicated corps of mechaniks that maintain and repair the army’s vital warjack complement. These soldiers are cross-trained for combat, as they must often affect repairs in the midst of battle. Outfitted with sophisticated equipment, these mechaniks brave incoming fire to reach damaged warjacks on the verge of destruction back to fighting shape.

Crucible Guard Mechanik in a nutshell

A solo who repairs and gives constructs Pathfinder. His repair ability is decent, and his immunities are helpful. He randomly has Gunfighter and a damage-typed melee weapon, which is extremely rare.

At a bargain-basement cost there is no reason not to own at least 1 even if they are not repairing they still contest and act as a nuisance.

Combos & Synergies

• Lets you repair a Liberator's burnt-out Arc Node.
• Mackay and her battlegroup don't need Pathfinder (since she has Mobility). However, the Mechanik is still very useful, as he can heal Mackay as well as her typically larger battlegroup.
• The Mechanik can do pretty respectable damage when charging a target affected by Oil.
• Seen a lot as a points filler, especially in Prima Materia.
• Weirdly affected by Major Aline Benetts Raid spell, it’s odd when such a cheap model can charge 11 1/2” and then shoot stuff with 3 damage dice from Pistoleer.

Drawbacks & Downsides

• Victim stats.
• Has to be near the front lines to apply All-Terrain or Repair but dies to a stiff breeze.
• Not great at holding flags.

Tricks & Tips

• All-Terrain can save you from spending the focus on spells like Transmutation, Boundless Charge, or Mobility, or put it on additional models or models is Prospero's battle group.

• Part of the Crucible Guard release (2018.06)
• The only model in the game with an elemental damage type on a melee weapon (as opposed to a critical damage type). Probably the only one, at least.
