Template:Circlebox This model is playable only in an Unlimited format.

Morvahna is a woman of intelligence and ambition who wields power over life itself and is as adept at pruning the living as restoring the dying to full vigor. She is the Autumnblade, and her arrival portends the dark turning of that season when the enemies of Orboros wither and their plans come to ruination.

  2. Enemy models in the AOE are hit and suffer an unboostable POW 13 blast damage roll. This damage is not considered to have been caused by an attack.

Thoughts on Morvahna1

Morvahna1 in a nutshell

Morvahna is an infantry support warlock who brings back her own troops with Restoration while weakening the enemy with Mortality. Although Harvest and her feat relies on there being a lot of enemy infantry, both are fairly potent if there are enough models to feed them both.

Maximising her Feat & Spells

Morvahna's feat breaks infantry hordes, healing her own infantry while punishing the enemy for clumping closely together. It is useless against constructs, so think twice before bringing her against Convergence armies.

  • Harvest is a backbone spell, allowing her to spend all her Fury on Regrowth/Upkeeps, get it all back, spend it again on her turn, and get it all back.
  • Regrowth is an excellent spell for keeping a good unit in play. Keep one model back at all times so you can bring the rest of the unit back.
  • Mortality is a great debuff, reducing enemy defensive scores and preventing annoying mechanics like Tough and Rapid Healing. It's often a good idea to take a Woldwarden or Tharn Blood Shaman to get in extra castings of this great spell.
  • Influence is mostly cute, though if you can use it on a weapon master to attack a high-value enemy target, go for it.
  • Eruption of Life is both a moderately powerful nuke spell and method of board control, creating forests out of destroyed models. It's most useful for getting clumps of enemies or slowing down enemy movement with inconvenient forests. Like Mortality, it might be worth bringing along a Woldwarden or Tharn Blood Shaman to cast this extra times.

Drawbacks & Downsides

  • Much of her kit will be useless against warjack-heavy armies or Convergence.
  • She really hates upkeep removal; although Vital Magic helps prevent it, it might weaken her for an enemy assassination.
  • RFP will prevent Regrowth from bringing back models.
  • Poor defensive stats; Sacrificial Pawn will help keep her safe from enemy shooting, but any enemy attacks that get onto her will hurt.

Tricks & Tips

  • You can use Regrowth to jam - regrowing models behind your chosen enemy to make them kill them or take free strikes.
  • Morvahna can get through a lot of Fury in a turn against the right opposition. Spending it all on upkeeping and restoration in the control phase, then topping it back up thanks to Harvest before she activates.
  • Harvest can let her get off a lot of offensive spells in her activation.

List Building Advice

Strategy

Take lots of infantry, and blow up infantry. Grind out against the enemy using Regrowth while using Mortality against harder targets.

Theme thoughts

She's an infantry warlock who is very clearly meant for The Devourer's Host, but The Wild Hunt has its appeals too, including geomancing warbeasts.

Template:Header

  • Tharn Bloodtrackers - A very good choice for Regrowth because they are threatening, hard to hit, and they absolutely love Mortality to make them hit harder and do more damage when they are focusing something down.
  • Tharn Blood Shaman - An extra Mortality a turn is great, and Harmonious Exaltation can help ease her Fury load if you need to swap Restoration.
  • Tharn Ravagers - Flexible and great to regrow.
  • Tharn Bloodweavers - Regrowing into Gang is a nice combination.
  • Tharn Blood Pack - Mortality allows their already respectable bows to start damaging harder targets.

Template:Header

  • Warpborn Skinwalkers - Once you throw Regrowth on them become effectively ARM 20 in melee and you can bring them back. Combined with their native healing and potentially that of Morvahna's feat, this is tooth-grindingly frustrating for many foes.

Template:Header

  • Gallows Grove - She's an offensive spellcaster and channeling is useful.
  • Gatorman Bokur & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers - Combined with a unit with Regrowth, you effectively have a limitless source of corpses to make Shamblers from. Mortality also gives them more respectable combat stats.
  • Shifting Stones - Besides their general utility (Healing Field combos especially well with Regrowth on medium-base infantry) they can also trigger Morvahna's Sacrificial Pawn to keep her safer from low-POW shooting.

Brennos is her pet warbeast that she can take in any theme.
  • Brennos is her pet warbeast that she can take in any theme. He provides another way for her to channel spells.
  • Woldwarden with both an offensive infantry-clearing zap and Mortality, Geomancy becomes very good.
