Bog Trog Mist Speaker

While rarely the actual leaders of their tribes, mist speakers are the spiritual advisors and counselors to the chieftains who command the bog trogs. These cunning viziers are adept at deception and misdirection. Mist speakers communicate with the spirits of the swamp, who direct them in all things and give them insight beyond the understanding of their tribal brothers. In battle, mist speakers support the tribe by wielding powerful magic that calls upon the forces of the bog trogs’ swampy homes.

Bog Trog Mist Speaker in a nutshell

The Bog Trog Mist Speaker is a support model through and through, with a useful if situational offensive spell, Guidance, which can make your shooting about a thousand times more effective or do nothing at all, and a small cloud that also gives the Mist Speaker stealth. Veteran Leader is probably their most common use in league play - but the Mist Speaker is useful in tournaments to just about any major Hordes faction thanks to the Wraith Engine imposing a magical weapon gear check in addition to the rest of the Ghost Fleet shenanigans.

Combos & Synergies

• Rask: He's a Bog Trog warlock, so loves the Veteran Leader buff, becuase he lieks to shoot his excellent, excellent gun when it's safe to do so.
• Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers: A small bonus to the Shamblers' MAT comes in exactly the right place in the bell curve.
• Bog Trog Ambushers and Bog Trog Trawlers - Veteran leader never hurts, although they will likely be operating too far forward to use it comfortably.
• Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew for a bigger cloud wall.

Drawbacks & Downsides

• He's a tool box solo and his best and most relevant tool is Guidance, meanign you take him if you need it and exclude him if you don't.
• His Veteran leader isn't that relevant because there aren't many good Bog Trog models. Unless you run Rask who is a very good model in his own right who just so happens to have the Bog Trog tag.

Tricks & Tips

• Influence is best used on weapon masters that are standing in someone's back arc.
