A heavy with pathfinder, weapon master and a nasty ranged attack. Great for hunting solos; it can place the template to kill low DEF, high ARM models or shoot with a normal attack to hope for a lucky scatter onto a high DEF, low ARM model.
 
===Combos & Synergies===
* [[Syntherion]] loves this model as it has both a ranged and melee attack and is a prime candidate for Hot Shot. His feat offers everything a combined arms war jack would want and Synergy is as always fantastic.
** Swap Hot Shot between 2 Assimilators (or 1 Assimilator and a [[Cipher]]) to really crank the boosted AOE spam.
* [[Directrix]] also likes the Assimilator, given her feat, ability to boost RNG, and buff damage via her servitors.
** Note that her RNG buff will increase the range of Ground Pounder attacks, too.
* [[Aurora2]] gives it a damage buff and threat extention, as well as Flight. A POW 15 ground pounder is pretty nifty. Just note that ground pounder is not a basic attack so sadly you cannot use dual attack to make ground pounder attacks and melee attacks in the same activation.
* [[Orion1]] his feat with ground pounder. A conditional Rat of 7 and magic bullet makes the assimilator a good pick. Spell Piercing ground pounder shots means very little weakens your offensive output. It's just a shame it can't ground pound during an [[Avenging Force]] move.
* [[Mortenebra2]] like Orion but without the RAT score to pass on, Energizer and her feat are very useful no one expects a 5 damage dice heavy charging in.
 
===Drawbacks & Downsides===
* Lower ARM makes this vector less tanky than the walker kits.
* As a combined arms vector, you are almost never getting maximum work out of him. If you're shooting, you don't get the sweet weapon master melee attacks. If you're swinging in melee, you don't get the sweet ground pounder shots.
* The more mobile chassis of the hover-jack isn't really needed for a shooter, and there's good competition from the tripod-jacks.
** The [[Monitor]] with its new ricochet and cost reduction does almost everything the Assimilator does almost as well while being two points cheaper and having a longer threat range.
** The [[Cipher]] is a point cheaper, can throw around 4" Aoes while hitting harder in melee and providing a lot more utility thanks to Flare and Crater. Its ranged attacks aren't so useful against heavy infantry however.

*** The LOS requirements for placing the template are a bit counterintuitive, and the explanation is longwinded. See the Rules Clarifications section for details.
*** One of the useful tricks of this counterintuitive-ness is how you can "shoot around corners" because only ''part'' of the template needs to be in LOS, not the whole thing. (In fact it's impossible to have it entirely in LOS, because as soon as it overlaps a model the overlapped area is out of LOS.)
*** A second useful trick is "shooting the back of a cloud/forest" where you place the near edge of the AOE as deep in the cloud/forest as possible, and the far edge overlapping models ''behind'' the cloud/forest.

  Errata-Dual Attack and Unit Charges (2023-10-27)
Question: If a unit with Dual Attack charges a single model, are all placed in melee range, and the first model kills the charge target, can the remaining members of the unit make ranged attacks, or do they forfeit their Combat Action because they don't have any enemy models in their melee range?
Answer: The check for melee range is done at the end of movement. If you kill the targets before they attack, they can still do their ranged attack. (Malkav13)

  Errata-Dual Attack and Special Attacks (2023-08-10)
Question: Can a model with Dual Attack make any combination of ranged special attack and normal melee initial attacks, or its melee special attack and normal ranged initial attacks? (Example: Bison Both Barrels and Ram, or Mariner Thresher and gunshot).
Answer: No.
Explanation: The bison can not use dual attack and also make a special attack. That is correct in that (Thresher) example too.

A model can make a special attack during its Combat Action if it meets the requirements for the special action or attack's use.
Ground Pounder - Place a 3 inch template anywhere completely within this weapons RNG and in this model's LOS. This model makes one ranged attack roll against each model in the template, ignoring concealment and Stealth. This model does not gain a bonus for aiming when resolving a Ground Pounder attack. Models do not gain the target in melee DEF bonus when resolving Ground Pounder attack rolls. Models hit suffer a ranged attack damage roll with a POW eaual to the POW of this weapon. Warjack Rules

Convergence of Cyriss warjacks are called vectors. While being a "Vector" isn't a gameplay rule, the Convergence warjacks do carry some additional rules of their own that set them apart from normal warjacks.


Interface Node
  1. This model has an interface node instead of a cortex, represented by the I boxes on the damage grid.
  2. This model gains focus, and can have no more than 3 points at any time.
  3. This model can spend focus only during its activation.
  4. This model cannot gain or spend focus while its interface node is crippled.
  5. This model is immune to effects that cause a warjack to suffer damage directly to its cortex.
  6. This model is immune to effects that require a warjack to have a functional cortex.

Warcaster Dependent MAT and RAT
  1. This model's MAT and RAT are equal to the current MAT and RAT of its controlling warcaster.
