Thoughts on PAGENAME
Battle Reports
PAGENAME in a Nutshell
First Mate Hawk is an extremely nimble melee solo that brings two P+S 9 weapon master cutlasses, while also supporting Sea Dogs by making them weapon masters against warrior models, which can either matter a lot if one faces lots of multiwound infantry or archons, or not at all if facing non-warrior models like Jacks, Warbeasts, Battle Engines, ect.

Thus her utility as a support solo is extremely reliant on the enemy army composition. However, she is also a SPD 7 solo with Parry, Relentless Charge, Sprint and Acrobatics, which means she can do some good work as a solo hunter and get around.

Combos & Synergies
Lore
* Sea Dog models, notably Press Gangers and Sea Dog Pirates get the most out of her buff.
** Notably Press Gangers become P+S 11 with Gang, with object of desire that's 21 damage on average, 25 on a charge.
* Anyone that buffs Privateer models such as Bosun Grogspar, Doc Killingsworth, Captain Phinneus Shae, and Lord Rockbottom.
* If you want to bring both Press Gangers and Hawk in other factions, don't forget to bring a ranking officer! Notably Mosby in CG who gives them +2 STR and Overtake (making them effectively P+S 13 weapon masters against warriors), or the Attendant Priest who ups their defense or turns their swords magic.
* The Talion Charter Theme gives her Sacrificial Pawn - and all the Sea Dogs she could ask for. Also take her for free in the theme - she's one of the most expensive options.

Drawbacks & Downsides
* Object of Desire does not work against warjacks, warbeasts, horrors, battle engines or structures, so sadly you won't turn lowly Sea Dogs into huge ARM Crackers.
* She only buffs Hand Weapon attacks specifically, meaning that models such as the Devil's Shadow Mutineers don't get her buff. However Swamp Gobber River Raiders with their ‘poisoned hand weapons’ will get the buff as it contains the key words - not that it’s much to write home about on a p+s 6 attack.
* While she's the hardest to kill out of all the Privateer solos she can still die to a stray blast.
* Even though she is fielded with them, Hawk isn't a Sea Dog, so she wont activate abilities such as Bloody Bradigan's Flank.
* in other factions without pirates Black Bella is the better investment.

Tricks & Tips
Captain Shae's first mate Hawk is responsible for keeping her Sea Dogs ready for action, and she suffers neither fools nor sloth among the crew. She wields a pair of cutlasses, and few can boast to have lived after standing toe-to-toe with her. Hawk's example fires up the men who go to great lengths to catch even the slightest nod of her approval.
* Due to her high Speed stat, acrobatics, and finishing with a Sprint she can go open up nasty angles of attack as Fiona the Black's arc node. And can survive the Dark Ritual. Remember if you're behind an enemy they probably aren't engaging you so you can be channeled through.
* Object of Desire works best against heavy infantry and Archons. Use her for that or as a sprinting killer.

Model Advantages and Abilities

Unstoppable
Unstoppable
This model does not have to forfeit its Combat Action when it advances or is placed out of one or more enemy models' melee ranges during its Normal Movement.

No errata for Unstoppable (Create)

Tough
Tough
When this model is disabled, roll a d6. On a 5 or 6, remove 1 damage point from this model; it is no longer disabled and becomes knocked down. While knocked down, this model loses Tough.

  Errata-Tough on 4-5-6 (2023-6-22)
Question: If a feat or ability says when a model "makes a Tough roll of 4,5, or 6... that model can remove 1 damage point," does that mean the model gets to remove 1 damage point from that ability PLUS another damage point from the Tough ability?
Answer: No, you only remove 1 damage point.
Explanation: You will only heal one point of damage due to [Madrak's] feat
Infernal Ruling: elswickchuck - PP Community forum

Object of Desire
While within 10 inches of this model, other friendly Privateer Warrior models gain +2 to their melee attack damage rolls.

No errata for Object of Desire (Create)

Relentless Charge
While advancing as part of a charge, a model with Relentless Charge gains Pathfinder.
Pathfinder Pathfinder:
This model treats rough terrain as open terrain while advancing. While charging, slam power attacking, or trample power attacking, this model does not stop its movement when it contacts an obstacle.
No errata for Pathfinder (Create)

No errata for Relentless Charge (Create)

Sacrificial Pawn
When this model is directly hit by an enemy ranged attack, you can have one friendly, non-incorporeal Privateer warrior model within 3 inches of this model directly hit instead. That model is automatically hit, and suffers all damage and effects.

No errata for Sacrificial Pawn (Create)

Sprint
At the end of an activation in which it destroyed or removed from play one or more enemy models with melee attacks, a model with Sprint can immediately make a full advance, then its activation ends.

No errata for Sprint (Create)
