** There are three Convergence Partisan models that, between them, can take this warjack in a plethora of Mercenary, Cryx, and Cygnar themes.
** These models are Aurora2, Asphyxious4, and Nemo4.

Thoughts on PAGENAME
PAGENAME in a nutshell
A cheap, tough and mobile melee vector. Useful for protecting important models and throwing, the Conservator is also the cheapest credible melee heavy that the Convergence has to offer (the Modulator having the punching power of a light warjack).

Because Destruction Initiative already has an abundance of shield guards in the form of servitors it’s more common to see a Conservator in 1 of the 2 infantry themes instead, additionally given the popularity of Lucant shield guard cannot be considered its main selling point. You take the Conservator for its cheapness and its utility is very much secondary to that.

Combos & Synergies
* The Conservator is best when you can trigger its hand of vengeance. This means that you want infantry or servitors to go with it.
** Obstructors : Conservators' best friend, convergence's proud shield wall meatshield can easily trigger its hand of vengeance. It is quite normal watching a blind AoE taking out some obstructors, and thus triggering hand of vengeance.
** Reductors : A bit expensive, yet still can trigger him.
** Transverse Enumerator : Cyriss' only UA. She's the one conservator will protect normally, guaranteeing shield guard when facing an AOE, or Iron sentinel. One of main reasons why conservators are sitting around infantry babysitting.
** Enigma Foundry : An extremely important, expensive solo who needs the conservator around. The solo itself does not have any melee weapon, and due to its utility the enemy will try everything to take it down. Shield it well.
** Transfinite Emergence Projector : Shield Guard keeps the TEP safe from long-range guns, and Hand of Vengeance triggers when a Permutation Servitor is destroyed.
* Asphyxious4 - Gaspy can regrow his servitors who trigger hand of vengeance, and dark shroud fixes its low output. Don't put it on him though, induction chains
Caster Synergies
* Axis, The Harmonic Enforcer : His feat turn is a real boon to an otherwise pillow-fisted melee heavy. Conservators make a good lure to run out front of your line and threaten countercharges. Keep an Inverter close by to put the hurt on anyone foolish enough to charge the Conservator.
* Iron Mother Directrix : Imperil from her servitors buffs its damage output. And thanks to her field marshal, conservator is one hard arc node to play with.
* Father Lucant, Divinity Architect : While losing the benefit of cheapest shield guard vector, positive charge can max out conservator's punching power and accuracy.
* Aurora, the Numen of Aerogenesis : typically she is an infantry caster but apparition improves its threat range and the feat lets it return back towards infantry ready to trigger hand of vengeance again.
**typically Strange Bedfellows wants cheap models who can die to provide swift vengeance to the solos, the Conservator also enjoys this same bonus.
* Aurum Lucanum Athanor Locke : Given how cheap they are, casting Redline on one and using Road to War, you can turn one of these vectors into a bullet with 2 power 19 attacks and possibly MAT 9 with precision strike to target those core systems.

In Destruction Initiative you get a lot of free Servitors that get Shield Guard, allowing you to have a very easy way of activating Hand of Vengeance. You should be able to have Hand of Vengeance up just about every single turn if you make sure your Servitors are near something the opponent wants to kill, and your Conservator near said Servitor (This is easy to do when you entire army is nothing but Conservators!). This puts them at effectively P+S 17. For a 11 point Warjack with 20 armor, you can't get much more bang for your buck. Pair this with Syntherion's Synergy spell, and you are on a fast track to P+S 20.

Drawbacks & Downsides
* Conservator's base P+S is weak for a melee heavy, and usually needs buffs.
* Hand of Vengeance requires your opponent killing your troops. They can simply choose not to play into your hands, though this can also be to your advantage.
* Its low natural threat range often sees it taking a charge, not giving it.

Pathfinder
Pathfinder
This model treats rough terrain as open terrain while advancing. While charging, slam power attacking, or trample power attacking, this model does not stop its movement when it contacts an obstacle.

No errata for Pathfinder (Create)

Dual Attack
Dual Attack

This model can make melee and ranged attacks in the same activation. When this model makes its initial melee attacks, it can also make its initial ranged attacks. A model with Dual Attack can make its initial melee and ranged attacks in any order you choose. This model cannot make ranged attacks after making a power attack.

Errata-Dual Attack and Unit Charges (2023-10-27)
Question: If a unit with Dual Attack charges a single model, are all placed in melee range, and the first model kills the charge target, can the remaining members of the unit make ranged attacks, or do they forfeit their Combat Action because they don't have any enemy models in their melee range?
Answer: The check for melee range is done at the end of movement. If you kill the targets before they attack, they can still do their ranged attack. (Malkav13)
Explanation: This post is correct.

Errata-Dual Attack and Special Attacks (2023-08-10)
Question: Can a model with Dual Attack make any combination of ranged special attack and normal melee initial attacks, or its melee special attack and normal ranged initial attacks? (Example: Bison Both Barrels and Ram, or Mariner Thresher and gunshot).
Answer: No.
Explanation: The bison can not use dual attack and also make a special attack. That is correct in that (Thresher) example too.

Construct
Construct
This model is a construct, and is not a living model.

No errata for Construct (Create)

Hand of Vengeance
When one or more friendly Faction warrior models are destroyed or removed from play by enemy attacks while within 5 inches of this model, this model gains +2 on melee attack and damage rolls for one round.

No errata for Hand of Vengeance (Create)

Shield Guard
When a friendly model is directly hit by a non-spray ranged attack while within 3 inches of a model with Shield Guard, you can choose to have the model with Shield Guard be directly hit instead.
  1. That model is automatically hit and suffers all damage and effects.
  2. A model can use Shield Guard only once per round.
  3. A model cannot use Shield Guard if it is incorporeal, knocked down, or stationary.
  4. Shield Guard can only be used once per attack.

No errata for Shield Guard (Create)

Weapons

Ablator Blade
RNG ROF AOE POW LOCATION
1 - - 14 Left and Right (1 each)

Buckler
This weapon has an integral buckler that gives the model a cumulative +1 ARM bonus; for example, a model with two of them gains a bonus of +2 ARM. A model does not gain this bonus while the weapon system with the buckler is crippled.

No errata for Buckler (Create)

Throw Power Attack
Throw Power Attack
  • This weapon can be used to make Throw power attacks.
  • A warjack cannot use this weapon to make a Throw Power attack if this weapon is crippled.

No errata for Throw Power Attack (Create)

Warjack Rules

Convergence of Cyriss warjacks are called vectors. While being a "Vector" isn't a gameplay rule, the Convergence warjacks do carry some additional rules of their own that set them apart from normal warjacks.

Interface Node
  1. This model has an interface node instead of a cortex, represented by the I boxes on the damage grid.
  2. This model gains focus, and can have no more than 3 points at any time.
  3. This model can spend focus only during its activation.
  4. This model cannot gain or spend focus while its interface node is crippled.
  5. This model is immune to effects that cause a warjack to suffer damage directly to its cortex.
  6. This model is immune to effects that require a warjack to have a functional cortex.

No errata for Interface Node (Create)

Warcaster Dependent MAT and RAT
  1. This model's MAT and RAT are equal to the current MAT and RAT of its controlling warcaster.
  2. This model does not directly benefit from MAT/RAT bonuses, but any alteration to a controlling warcaster's MAT/RAT will be passed along to this model.
  3. Effects that affect attack rolls will affect this model normally.

No errata for Warcaster Dependent MAT and RAT (Create)

No Power Up
This model does not power up and does not automatically gain a focus point for being in the controlling warcaster's control range during the Control Phase.

No errata for No Power Up (Create)

Force Induction
When this model spends a focus point during its activation, you can give a focus point to another warjack with an operational interface node if the two are in the same battlegroup and are within 9 inches of one another. This does not override the Interface Node rule limiting the warjack's focus points to 3.

No errata for Force Induction (Create)

The arcane displacer drive represented a major breakthrough in vector design. Freed from the hampering influence of gravity, heavy vectors equipped with this technology—such as the Conservator, Assimilator, and Modulator—gain unparalleled freedom of movement. The Conservator is equipped with heavy shields and low-traction gyros that allow it to intercept attacks.
