Borka 1

2020 Resolutions

I usually make resolutions every year, but I don’t often share. This year feels different. I’m looking forward to playing more often, participating in bi-weekly game nights and a tournament now and then. To cement my goals, I’m putting them on my hobby site.

Play 50 games this year.

It doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s much more than last year. It comes to once a week, or once every other week with a few tournaments thrown in.

Travel out of town for a tournament.

Playing out of town exposes me to new lists, connects the community and supports other game stores.

Stick with a pairing.

I like Gunnbjorn. I’m looking for his second. So I might be rocking him for a while (a month or two) until I figure out what I want to build. I also like Jarl, but I feel like they’re a little too close in how they play out. I might explore an oldie, like Borka 1.

Finish painting a faction.

The Trollbloods are almost done. So it’s a low hanging fruit. I’m probably delaying on some of the larger pieces (Hooch Hauler and Glacier King), because I am a little intimidated. But if I can make a dynamic looking War Wagon, I can make a good looking colossal.

Make a video.

I am still trying to figure out the logistics behind it, but I want to put out some WMH content.

Play 12 games of Infinity.

What? That’s not a Privateer Press game! No, it isn’t. But I really like the aesthetic. I also like meaningful terrain, and the game mechanic isn’t bad either. I also hear they’re coming out with a new edition, so it seems like the perfect time to pick it up.

Bring 3D terrain to the LGS.

They have some, and have been playing on it a bit more, but I should really bring some in. It does nobody any good just sitting on my shelf.

Last year was a good break. I took a lot of time to do other things, and I think I can work some time in for myself. Let’s hear it for 2020!
