She slices! She dices! (But don’t ask her to make you julienne fries if you value your life.) Just another iron maiden, she is not. As inventor Jasper Jacobsen's last surviving specimen of clockwork automata, “Jacobsen’s Amazing Iron Maiden” (“J.A.I.M.s” for short) is a merciless tornado of blades, as beautiful as she is deadly.

Thoughts on the J.A.I.M.s

J.A.I.M.s in a nutshell

J.A.I.M.s is a highly-deliverable melee solo who will likely die the turn after she charges unless she plays on the wings where she can cause some trouble for flanking units. Alternately, she can put Grievous Wounds onto models that your opponent may want to heal next turn, which is helpful. She faces stiff competition as a Merc or Minion solo pick, even in Mercs or Minions and will likely only be seen in Convergence armies where she is a faction model.Her natural stats are good but not so good that a boosted power 12 isn't a threat.

Strange Bedfellows seems to be her perfect theme improving her threat range and adding to her volume of attacks

Combos & Synergies

Convergence

• Aurora1 lets her fly and speeds her up with her Areogenesis spell. Jaims can also use her focus to boost thanks to arcane might.
• Lucant has the tools to buff her arm, he can deliver her and make the most from spring blades. Positive charge on a vector near her prey target makes her very deadly also.

Mercenaries

• Macbain can use his feat to keep her alive and have Boomhowler stand her up allowing her to get into the back lines.
• Theme - The Exalted for Skorne gives JAIMS Immovable Object, but Skorne are more likely to employ other minion solos in that theme.
• in Theme - Strange Bedfellows she gains Swift Vengeance which is very potent on her. Helping to deliver her and put her where she wants to be
• As a melee solo she is one of the many great targets for Shae's Storm Rager spell in the Irregulars. The problem is there are many other, equally good or even better, targets in that theme.

Minions

• • Azazello has storm rager and polishes infantry so much. Retalitory Strike works with spring blades.

Drawbacks & Downsides

• Melee combat solos struggle to earn back their points, especially with only two attacks.
• She has so much competition in mercs and minions, most of whom are just way more specialized.
• She doesn't really have a good target to go after, her low volume of attacks makes infantry swarms and assassinations an issue her p+s won't hurt heavies (well maybe with prey) and if she is hunting solos most cost less than she does so she needs to survive multiple terms to make back her cost.

Tricks & Tips

• She is fairly straight forward. Deliver her and watch her wreck face, or use her as a bait piece to distract the opponent from a more valuable target.
• In convergence Grievous wounds is in short supply (Crit on the Galvanizer only) using her to deny healing can mess up a key model for the enemy
• Charge a target and use side step to drift into an easy to kill model nearby - OR use both attacks to jam as many models as possible baiting out spring blades or a free strike.
