Mounted on swift Skirovik mountain goats native to the northern Khadoran peaks, these blackclads bring the speed and ferocity of a summit storm to bear as they strike from walls of churning mist. Once a rider learns to harness the elements of these remote mountains, he shrouds his form in fog or sheets of rain that blend his silhouette into those of trees and rocks while flashes of lightning sear his opponents.

Druid Mist Riders in a Nutshell

The Mist Riders are light cavalry. They're mounted druids that zap enemies and then reposition away. Because since the 2021.10 Rebalance-opocalypse they gained immuninity to electricity so they don't risk hurting themselves anymore if they trigger battle wizard.

Their stand out stat like most cavalry is their speed an unaided threat range of 13 with boosted charge attack rolls makes them really good at hit and run tactics.

Combos & Synergies

  • Woldwrath increases the accuracy of their magical shooting.
  • Krueger the Stormwrath His lightning tendrils spell gives them electro-leap, for extra infantry killing.
  • Mohsar - Mirage helps improve their threat range further. Decreasing enemy armour makes their charge attacks pow 14, which is just enough to start bullying harder targets.
  • Storm Raptor's animi Sky Fire increases damage and accuracy of druids offensive spell.

Drawbacks & Downsides

  • Expensive per model
  • They join the long line of "Circle models that excel at killing light infantry" - most of whom do it better/cheaper than these guys (Reeves of Orboros especially)
  • Fragile
  • Other than their charge attack their melee is terrible. Just don't bother with impact attacks
  • Because they are lightning immune, there is no possibility that the chain lightning arcs back and hits another member of the unit. This makes it easier choosing the right targets, because you don't take lightning immune models into account, when checking which is the closest model to arc to

Tricks & Tips

  • They excel at zapping deep and killing the enemy support - either a charge and battle wizard over the top or running round the flanks
  • Because they are cav, they get boosted to hit on the charge, which helps mitigate their low mat, and helps activate battle wizard.
