| Of all the pirates preying on the Broken Coast, none are more savage than the black ogrun of Cryx. Once a prize is within reach, these soot-black mountains of corded muscle leap from their vessels and fall upon their victims with a sanity-staggering howl, leaving gory seas and unidentifiable corpses in their wake. Those unlucky enough to survive a black ogrun assault are rounded up like cattle and forced into ship holds bound for the Nightmare Empire, to be slaves in the foundries of Cryx.

| =Thoughts on PAGENAME=
| |
| ===PAGENAME in a nutshell===
| |
| The Black Ogrun Boarding Party are the cheapest multi-wound unit in the game, on a per-model basis. As such their main purpose is to soak up attacks, but their secondary purpose (combat) isn't too bad either; with a 14" threat range and decent output when they CRA they can be a threat to most solos and lights. Even if they can't kill their target, the ability to drag medium bases towards the rest of the Cryx army can be useful.
| |
| | |
| ===Combos & Synergies===
| |
| * Ragman can stand behind them and apply Death Field. This lets you get Dark Shroud on a dragged model while keeping Ragman further away from danger.
| |
| * Skarre3 - Draconic Blessing gives them P+S 15 hand weapons, Dash increases their threat range and gives them Parry, Reinforcements lets them recur and Deceleration makes them ARM 17 against shooting.
| |
| | |
| ===Drawbacks & Downsides===
| |
| * Drag sounds good until you consider stealth, Shield Guard, Sacrificial Pawn, stuff that can’t be moved, walls/terrain/other models ... it’s a long list.
| |
| * ARM 15 and 5 wounds isn't that durable; most charging infantry will take them out in one shot. Still, they are extremely durable for their points cost.
| |
| * As a primarily shooting unit they leave a bit to be desired - they cost more than 1 point-per-model and only have RAT 5.
| |
| * Drag is only useful vs lights and medium-based troops. Ogrun can't drag large bases, and most small-bases will be insta-killed.
| |
| | |
| ===Tricks & Tips===
| |
| * Your primary target should be enemy lights. Even if you can't kill them, keep an eye out for if you can drag them out of the enemy control range. That will make the light a lot less potent on their next turn.
| |
| * Fewer 2-man or 3-man CRA are normally more useful than more non-CRA shots.
| |
| * Position your Ogrun in such a way as to get the melee bonus from Gang against a dragged target.
| |
| * Drag a model out of a Shield Wall formation to lower its buffs.
