Template:Skornebox This model is playable only in an Unlimited format.
Since the skorne arrived in western Immoren, countless warriors and slaves have met their ends in the slavering jaws of a pack of reptile hounds, vicious pack hunters that the skorne enjoy setting upon lone warbeasts and enemy champions. Many foes have been demoralized after seeing their mightiest heroes or greatest beasts torn to pieces by a pack of these scaled predators. Even the most resilient creatures often find their natural powers of regeneration no match for the crushing strength of a reptile hound’s jaws; a pack of them working in concert can swiftly reduce even a hulking satyr to a pile of bloody bones.

Thoughts on the Reptile Hound
Reptile Hound in a nutshell
Cheap bullets, the Reptile Hounds are effectively solos who benefit from battlegroup buffs. It’s fast but has poor stats across the board to emphasis that you need to use Flank.
The biggest problem with them is that they need to be taken in multiples to do work but 2 Reptile hounds cost the same as a Cyclops Brute who has the same volume of attacks as 2 hounds, hits harder and more accurately than the first, has more durability and has additional support abilities, including but limited to still generating fury when it dies (light warbeast vs lesser). If you do not need a beast that does work, you just want a transfer target and animus bot, the Aradus Scarab is cheaper, offers better support to other lights and has a niche in the form of bullet resistance.
All of this makes the hounds really underwhelming vs other faction options.
Combos & Synergies
- Paingiver Beast Handlers - clear off that fury after it's shot the solo.
- More reptile hounds - they flank with each other.
- Aradus Scarab can dig in the reptile hound
Warlock Synergies
- Beast Master Xekaar Alpha Hunter polishes all of their weaknesses free charges especially help the pillow fisted pooch.
- Master Ascetic Naaresh Battlegroup buffing feat, and they are the cheapest beast able to fully use his feat.
- Void Seer Mordikaar Pathfinder for all these bullets
- Tyrant Zaadesh Cheap flanking/tag team partners
- Supreme Aptimus Zaal Running up a single hound to flank something, then let the other go to town with the Flank bonus, Enrage and Last Stand.
Drawbacks & Downsides
- Fragile - they may have a lot of damage boxes, but that's a low ARM value.
- Even with Flank and Enrage, they don't hit that hard
- The dog that activate first to provide flank to the other have a really anemic output.
Tricks & Tips
Use them in pairs if you must - they flank with each other, and that's decent damage for the cost.
