Template:Protectorate Theme Force
This mk3 Theme Force has no equivalent in mk4. You can build a similar army in Unlimited Protectorate (if/when the models in this theme get ported to mk4 rules) |
The word of the Creator of Man is law, and by the will of the faithful his designs are made material. The clergy of the Protectorate march to war arrayed as an army worthy of Menoth, channelling the power of Menite relics that predate the priest-kings while chanting prayers drawn from holy writ and ancient inscriptions. Their mighty sanctified machines rumble across the battlefield to clash with those who would deny the glory of Menoth. Great wheels bearing the weight of consecrated edifices grind ever onward, accompanied by the hymns of warpriests. In righteous splendor Menoth's most devout servants go forth to battle blessed by his might.

Thoughts on The Creator's Might
The Creator's Might in a Nutshell
Prior to the 2019 Oblivion update, Creator's Might rewarded you for taking lots of warjacks & battle engines, while the other themes rewarded you for taking lots of infantry. This clearly defined Creator's Might as the "All the 'Jacks All the Time" theme.
Now though, with the way Requistion Points work after the Oblivion update, you can go "All 'Jack" in any' theme, leaving Creator's with nothing to really set it apart. At the time of writing (2020.12) Creator's Might still has yet to carve out a new niche for itself.
Theme weaknesses
Low model count
With most of your points spent on warjacks and few units available, it can leave you with a small force that makes it difficult to score scenario zones. This can be slightly offset by the Mercenary options available to you.
If your opponent can land a few critical debuffs and stop even a few models from participating meaningfully, it can completely kneecap your army.
Also, with fewer models you potentially have fewer attacks, making it harder to deal with infantry swarms or anything else that needs you to roll a lot of dice. You can offset by having "high value" attacks - rather than hinging your strategy on lots of attacks at low MAT/RAT you have fewer attacks with good MAT/RAT.
Lack of identity
As mentioned above, there is nothing to really set this theme apart and give you a good reason to run it, as opposed to the other Protectorate themes (particularly The Faithful Masses or Exemplar Interdiction which each have decent warjack benefits).
List-Building Tips
Casters
- Amon will likely be using several cheap warjacks in any configuration of with particular use of Dervish, Crusader or Castigator jacks.
- Feora4 - Double Menite Archons, backed by Warders, the Living Covenant, Rhoven and free upkeeps are all very good reasons for her to play this theme and she runs faily jack heavy as well.
- Feora3 - She wants to play in themes with the Living Covenant at any time and a free Redline and durable Shield Guards are just gravy for her.
Non-caster
- Support tends to be fairly homogenous with two Exemplar Warders an Severius0 being typical free solos - while paying for others like the Vassal of Menoth, Wracks and either iteration of the Covenant.
- Severius0 - Every CM list begins with his inclusion. +1/+1 on any Protectorate model is just too good to pass up.
- Rhoven and his body guards are a quality unit to contest with. Rhoven himself has very neat spells and his buddies are cheap and durable Shield Guards.
- The Living Covenant - If you want to got for an assassination, the teleport is essential. If your caster has to do work personally, such as Amon, or Feora3 who needs to caster Incite, its an essential repositioning, tool, as well.
- Idrian Skirmishers - Your best bet to get a large unit into your list. They have good guns and melle potential and relebvant defensive abilities and can fuel the Shrine, Sanctifiers or the Hand Of Silence and really appreciate Sevy.
- Choir of Menoth - Every Protectorate list should have at least a min unit.
- Menite Archon - A tough workhorse solo the will find its way into most lists. As clients of Warders you can DEF skew a little with their Ashen Veil ability and Vassal Mechaniks are excellent pieces to trigger Righteous Vengeance on them and let Warders heal.
- Exemplar Warder Elias Gade - He contests and has two good guns all at 3 points. An absolute steal.
Starting a 25 point Brawl list
In 2020.11 Phillip Melvin, one of the LOS authors, put together this list for the Brawlmachine format. It was then updated for the 2021.10 errata. He even wrote about it's playstyle and expanding it beyond 25 points, which you can read here.
- Severius0: [Free] Template:Grey
- Repenter: [7 pts]
- Exemplar Warder Elias Gade: [3 pts]
- Vassal Mechanik: [1 pt]
- Wrack: [1 pt]
- Choir of Menoth (Min unit): [4 pts]
Casters of Note
High Allegiant Amon Ad-Raza - This is the Amon theme. He loves hordes of warjacks for maximising Synergy and Mobility spells and this theme rewards him for doing so with free solos and letting him begin with his upkeeps already in play.
Hierarch Severius - Severius2 likes his warjacks also, especially arc nodes so he can spellsling the enemy to death. This theme gives him free models from those jacks, plus great support models like the Covenant of Menoth and Exemplar Warder to keep him safe as he goes for assassination.
