Designed for Issyria’s exclusive use and fitted with experimental technology that includes a cutting-edge arc node, Hemera magnifies the warcaster’s arcane abilities. The myrmidon wades into the thick of combat to take Issyria’s place, allowing her to guide the flow of combat more effectively without putting herself in harm’s way.

Theme Forces

  • When taken by anyone else
    • Template:Legions of Dawn. In this theme Hemera can ignore friendly Dawnguard models when determining LOS, and it can advance through friendly Dawnguard models if it has enough movement to move completely past them. Also, if someone 'Jack Marshals Hemera, it gains Flank [Dawnguard].

Thoughts on Hemera

Hemera in a nutshell

Hemera is a ranged support warjack, who buffs ranged attacks for the rest of the army, and can increase the FOCUS efficiency of Issyria. With its Empowered nifty arc node, and bond, Issyria gets a net of 2 FOCUS per turn, which can be spent elsewhere. Its gun's critical effect is nice when it triggers, but due to its average RAT it isn't something to base a strategy on. In close combat it is a little pillow fisted, even for a Retribution jack owing to having just the one melee initial, but like all Myrmidons, can be buffed up to S+P 17 by an Arcanist.

Combos & Synergies

  • Issyria is the only model that will benefit from her bond; upkeeping Admonition or Inviolable Resolve on a key target for free, or even both if Sylys Wyshnalyrr is also employed. Empowered Arc node is always useful to apply Blinding Light from a distance and under her feat Hemera gets True Sight too, so you can channel spells upon stealthy targets beyond the usual 5" threshold.
  • Mark Target is a general RAT fixer - allowing you to catch elusive targets, and shore up your chances with Critical Effects - read, the Critical Consume on the Hyperion's Starburst Cannon. Stacked with other RAT fixing effects, such as the Dawnguard Trident's Shooting Gallery, you can reliably hit even the most elusive of targets.
  • Garryth2 has a neat interaction with the Empowered Arc-Node in that channeled spells can still benefit from Witch Mark, so he can reduce the cost on his Mortality spell, while still auto-hitting with it. Additionally, Road to War and Repo 3 will make sure Hemera is always int he correct position to mark targets, which naturally benefitts are shooty caster.

Drawbacks & Downsides

  • Low combat stats overall
  • To get full use of her abilities, she needs to play forward more than is often comfortable.

Tricks & Tips

  • Mark Target and Arc Node tend to be triky to set up; you must get close to get the +2 bonus to hit, but also must remain unengaged to be able to channel, use Reposition to set up the perfect angle.
  • Use Admonition to get out of melee with would be attackers and set up Mark Target for your next turn.

Trivia

  • Released 2017.04
  • Hemera, in Greek mythology, was the Goddess of the Day, but was mostly associated with the dawn. Which is fitting given that Hemara is bonded with Issyria, the Sibyl of Dawn.
