Jarl Skuld

I’ve had a few friendly games, mostly 1v1v1 or other group games with a small number of Steamroller style.  Jarl has done well each time he’s been fielded.

The last game had Jarl overseeing a Bomber, two Impalers and a Mauler.  I left the stone behind, threw in some Warders, Scatter Gunners  and a Bushwhacker unit.  The Gunners got popped by Khador and Widowmakers,  with the Warders taking a couple hits to prolong the shooting until the Gunners could close range.

One of the Impalers got lucky with a boosted hit, knocking back a Skorne Titan, then Jarl almost finished it off.  Had the Bushwhacker troops been deployed, they certainly would have finished the beast off.  The Bomber was able to trash a heavy, with support from the Mauler.

I have to say, Jarl’s ability to speed up a jack or unit really helps project my forces. I’m going to try Fennblades again with him In a list like this:

I also really dig Magic Bullet.  Having the Bomber for snipe and Impaler as backup snipe is super helpful.  Into Makeda, with the Skorne changes, I think Jarl would suffer if facing a large Battlegroup.  Assassination would be off the table with all the shield guard beasts.

Until I get my Wagon and Dozer put together, I will continue to use Jarl to experiment with unit efficiency and placement.

New Models Inbound

I have Grissel 2 and a unit of Long Riders on the way.  I’d like to try her with a Band of Heroes list based on the riders.  I’m still looking for a good deal on those sorcerers, the knot, and rock chuckers.  Another whelp group would be cool too.
