• Siege vs Karchev the Terrible

I threw an abbreviated version of my 75 point Siege list at Khador’s Karchev the Terrible last Sunday.  We played a 35 point Rumble, and I opted to take the trencher infantry, a Grenadier,  Rangers, Triumph, Finn, and I think I took a Hunter as well.  Unfortunately,  I didn’t take any pictures of this match, and I was just starting to use warroom, so I neglected to copy Khador’s list.  The way I remember,  he fielded widow makers and Kodiak, Devastator, Juggernaut,  Destroyer and a winter guard cannon.  I lost my Rifleman to the widows, and had trouble closing with

  • Long Gunner Infantry Officer & Standard

I tried to mimic the way I painted the first group of Long Gunner Infantry, but didn’t quite nail it.  These guys have been sitting on my shelf, since I hadn’t really found a place for them in my Mk2 lists.  Maybe next month, they’ll see some play.  Hence the rush to paint.

  • Trenchers Day 4

Time to finish these guys. Too much has been divulged of the new Warmachine Mark III for me to neglect them. To start with, I’m going to have to do something about the leader’s face. It looks like he needs a moustache and eyes. Since I declared that I won’t spend too much time on the Trencher Infantry, I’m not going to beat myself up over the eyes. Some overall touchups with the leather, gunmetal blue on the rifle barrels, and some wash touch of grey on the bedrolls eventually led to a coat of varnish. The Trenchers will receive

Time to brighten their armor. For the brightening, I used metal medium mixed with Prussian blue. Vallejo Model Color 70.521 and 70.965.

  • Trenchers Day 2

Much like the Chain Gunners from last month, I hit the Trencher great coats with Vallejo German Camo Beige WWII. Leather details took some 70.871 Leather Brown. Love that mold line on their guns, right? Although part of me wishes I had shaved them better, I’m still feeling frustrated with the model quality, and just don’t care. After some much needed binge-watching of Archer on Netflix, and two not needed bottles of Not Your Fathers later, I found myself staring at some guys with rough faces and metal bits fairly completed. I think I used Natural steel mixed with blue

  • Trenchers Day 1

As far as plastic minis go, the trenchers were a good deal. My only criticism against the trenchers is that their guns bend in the packaging, leaving me to wonder if I should try to replace their weapons with something made of brass and green stuff. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to really get green stuff to do anything I want in any of my attempts at sculpting. An artist, I am not. I did lay in some basic earthwork with blue insulation foam, balsa-equivalent wood and miliput. My trenchers should be charging through dirt, over rocks, between embankments. And
