    Whether you’re a Cygnar player sporting a sweet gun line, or a Trollblood running Kriel Company,  you have to wonder how to handle Warbeasts and warjacks with Carapace.  Is it little more than cracking high armor? What is Carapace For those not in the know, Carapace is an ability that gives a +4 bonus to ARM against ranged attacks.  That includes sprays, AOEs, rockets, bullets, and so on, as long as the bullet, missile, what have you needed a RAT to hit.   • Calandra five games in

    I’m in five games with Calandra.  She’s different from what I’m used to playing, that is certain. I think she works well with minions.  Star Crossed helps her whole army.  Bullet Dodger helps the defense skew.  It isn’t as good as Even Ground (Madrak 1), but what is?  Bullet Dodger suffers from upkeep hate, and only affects one unit/model, doesn’ prevent knockdown, but does allow for a 2″ move.   • Calandra vs Goreshade3

    First outing The last game, with Gunnbjorn, combined with all the Madrak1 love had me thinking about my lists, caster synergy, and weaknesses in Gunnbjorn’s army. Gunnbjorn messes with ranged armies for a turn, but outside of that, doesn’t help his melee troops.  He also does absolutely nothing for minions.  I think he’ll do okay with the Sea King, but not in Band of Heroes.     In the back pages of the new No Quarter Prime magazine from Privateer Press, three Trencher themed scenarios offer some narrative-style gameplay.  Each scenario offers a method of winning outside of the normal Steamroller packet, and includes terrain options that push players outside their normal six piece comfort level.   • Road to Texicon ’17 Madrak 3, V3

    I’m still thinking Madrak 3 should by my primary list.  Last weekend I had a 2v2 Khador/Trollblood vs Cryx/Skorne with a few guys at one of the LGS.  We ended up splitting the space so that I could face off with the Cryx army, who placed most of their forces opposite me, except for a unit of ghost pirates who took the flank on the other side of the Skorne forces.   During the game, the Mauler ends up doing hardly anything.  It kills ooff a light jack in like one hit, without even having Rage running.  I suppose it
