Catapults were taken out. They couldn’t really do anything against the trenchers, and when they were a threat, Cygnar shot them up. Additions gave Makeda a shield, Zaadesh likes more than one beast, and the Karax serve as a good screen for Makeda, giving her Girded,so magic grenades won’t hit her.
I deploy similar to before. Skorne moves up, challenging the Hunters with Ferox. His main forces move up nice and tight. Even if I had blast, he has girded. Electroleaps would be nice.
I took out the Ferox by dropping a magic grenade, which allowed some shooting without the in melee bonus to Defense. The hunters were in the clear to wound some heavy warbeasts.
Then a huge surprise. Really, I didnt expect the Trenchers to die so quickly. The heavies trounce the Trenchers. I try to push the beasts back to claim flags, but can’t, due to the proximity of the wall. Everybody throws bullets into the heavies, but I roll pretty badly on damage (not too hard whith the POW 10s, but the Hunters and Grenadier should have accomplished more.
Game ended with Skorne taking an assassination. Caine was close enough to a Gun Mage, so Molik trotted up, killed my guy, moved two inches and cut Caine up.
Much better game. I was leading point wise, but couldn’t find a line on assassination. The shield, and sacrificial dudes gave Makeda a nice little fort to hang out in.
