My first Trollblood Warlock, Borka Kegslayer will lead my army to victory.
Why run Borka? Besides the fact that he’s a drunken troll bent on brawling or boinking? Well, he has the ability to bring the pain on his own, and he makes a deadly army deadlier.
On his own, he can bash most casters to a pulp. Imagine he’s found himself within 11″ of Stryker, and Stryker’s already burnt his feat, and has no focus left. Borka’s friend tops him off, giving the Kegslayer a whopping 7 fury. Borka casts mosh pit for 3, and his weapons have knockdown. He charges for 9″, bringing him within bashing range of Trauma. He boosts the attack roll, for that 74% chance to hit. With 3 fury left, Borka buys 3 more attacks, smashing in Stryker’s head with an 82% chance of success. Assuming Borka knocked Stryker down that first hit, his chances jump to 97%.
Granted, that’s an optimal situation, but what it says about Borka, is that he can pull an assassination on his own. With his feat, Borka’s threat increases by 2″. The feat and mosh pit spell not only help Borka, but turn his whole army into a massive wall of drunken warriors.
So who will I be taking? Rok is the obvious choice. His bond with Borka makes him harder to kill, Primal is superb, although I wish Borka could cast it on himself.
Blitzer is also great. I love Bulldoze, and so does Borka. The Blitzer’s two open fists desire nothing more than a throw, and after the victim is knocked down, the pyg can fire off a shot or two without fear of missing.
The Troll Axer has a threat extender, and thresher makes him an infantry whacker.
Lastly, the Earthborn Dire Troll doesn’t seem like an obvious choice. I know most folks have advised me to plah the Mauler, and I do understand the reasons. But I dont own another model, since mine is Rok modified. But the Earthborn can find his way across rough terrain, and can pick up speed, too.
Next, the whelps. Food for trolls, right? I expect I will need the fury management.
The stone bearer, scribes and elder mean shooty armies have an obvious target, and give my slow movers time to get downrange.
Finally, the Fennblades, officer and Fell caller hero will wrap up my army.
